Valorant Tier List: Best Agents for Season 2025 Act 3

5 min readJune 23, 2025

Valorant is a game that demands agility, not just in your gameplay, but in your Agent selection, too, and, as Season 2025 Act 3 continues to heat up, a new hierarchy has emerged. This is your guide to understanding this hierarchy and the very best agents this season.

S-Tier Agents

If they're on your team, you breathe a little easier. If they're on the enemy's side, you know you're in for a fight, as these are the best Agents of Act 3.

Duelists: Yoru, Neon

  • Yoru: Yoru's consistently been a meta-shaper, due to his ability to disorient with teleportation and blinding flashes, making him a nightmare for established setups.
  • Neon: Speed kills, and Neon’s epic pace and strong site-entry features remain brilliant, allowing her to create chaos and openings for her team with ease.

Controllers: Astra, Omen

  • Astra: This agent gives you complete oversight of the battlefield. Astra dictates the tempo of rounds, penetrating enemy lines and managing the combat like no other character.
  • Omen: Omen remains one of the best controllers in Valorant. He can make aggressive plays with teleport or adatp to different situations with smokes. The agent can be a fantastic choice for different team compositions.

Initiators: Sova, Breach, Gekko

  • Sova: As one of the best recon specialists in the game, Sova can secure valuable information for the team. By revealing enemy positions, Sova can provide a decisive edge to his team.
  • Breach: The initiator gives you the ability to clear entire sites. Whether you’re trying to penetrate enemy lines or flush out holdouts, Breach is the right choice. He is the best choice if you want to make defenders uncomfortable.
  • Gekko: The versatile initiator has numerous utility tools that can come in clutch. With his ability to plant or defuse spikes, he is vital for achieving objectives. On top of that, Gekko has scouting abilities that make him invaluable on different maps.

Sentinel: Vyse

  • Vyse: Despite being the last sentinel to be introduced in the game, Vyse has quickly become a top pick among pros and newbies alike. The agent allows you to lock down areas and isolate opponents with ease. With her unique skills, you can disrupt enemy plans and make them second–guess their every move.

A-Tier Agents

These Agents are incredibly strong, reliable, and can easily take over games. Although they’re not always the best choice, they will provide you with a massive advantage in specific situations.

Duelists: Jett, Raze

  • Jett: One of the most aggressive Operators in the game. Jett’s mobility allows you to make high-risk, high-reward plays that can turn the tide of a round in an instant.
  • Raze: Raze helps you make explosive entrances into tightly defended areas. Her abilities are ideal against enemies that are holding positions in small but hard-to-penetrate zones.

Initiators: KAY/O, Tejo

  • KAY/O: One of the better initiators in the game, KAY/O is a potent counter to ability-reliant compositions. His ultimate allows you to penetrate just about any defensive position with ease.
  • Tejo: A solid Initiator whose strengths shine in well-coordinated teams. Tejo abilities will help you gather information within seconds, which you can use for fast positional takeover.

Controller: Clove

  • Clove: This audacious Controller defies death itself. The ability to deploy smokes even after being eliminated, coupled with a self-heal and a combat-stim ultimate, makes Clove a uniquely resilient and surprisingly aggressive pick. Their shorter smoke duration is a trade-off for such powerful post-mortem utility.

Sentinel: Cypher

  • Cypher: The Moroccan information broker remains a top-tier intelligence gatherer. His network of traps and cameras can provide crucial early warnings and lockdown flanks, though he offers less direct stopping power than some peers.

B-Tier Agents

Viable and often very effective on specific maps or within particular team strategies, these Agents can still pack a punch but might be slightly overshadowed by the higher tiers in terms of overall versatility or raw power.

  • Duelists: Reyna (her recent buffs make her a stronger ranked demon), Iso, Waylay
  • Initiators: Fade (her ultimate is still a menace, but other parts of her kit can be played around)
  • Controllers: Viper (a must-pick on maps like Icebox and Breeze), Brimstone (reliable smokes and powerful post-plant)
  • Sentinels: Chamber (still capable of high-impact frags but less utility-focused), Deadlock (her walls can be potent but expire relatively quickly)

C-Tier and D-Tier Agents

These Agents either require significant team coordination to extract value, are only truly effective in niche scenarios, or are perhaps waiting for a friendly nod from the developers in future patches.

  • C-Tier: Harbor (his water walls can unfortunately slow down his own team if not placed with surgical precision), Sage (her wall is more fragile than ever, and healing output can feel underwhelming against focused fire), Killjoy (her utility is easily dismantled by savvy opponents, though still holds value on certain defensive setups), Skye (nerfs to her flashes and ultimate have clipped her wings somewhat).
  • D-Tier: Phoenix (while capable of solo heroics with his ultimate, his overall team value and entry potential outside of it often leave something to be desired).

Adapt to Meta

Although the top agents on this list can give you a decisive edge in combat, that doesn’t mean they’re the best choice in every situation. Your team composition and personal skills will always play a bigger role in securing wins.

The agents at the S and A Tiers generally offer the most consistent routes to victory, but a skilled player can find success with almost any character. That being said, if you wish to climb competitive ranks faster, you should consider a game boosting service or a coaching service to take your game to the next level.
